Project Description
Client: Port Of London Authority
Location: London River House, Gravesend Kent
Scope of works
Automated Sliding Gate to Car Park
To supply and install 1no. 2.4m High x 5.6m Wide Fully Automated cantilever sliding gate. The sliding gate will be constructed of an aluminium framing and infilled with 32mm CHS hollow bar infill. The gate will operate via a Fieg control panel built into a locked cabinet within the hanging portal of the sliding gate. The gate will be finished to match surrounding fence. The gate will be designed and manufactured to be fully compliant to BS/EN 12453. The run back area of the gate will be enclosed using a mesh fencing system to prevent arm traps or injury.
The gate system includes the following safety features to each leaf:
Dead Man Key Switch Operation
Emergency Stop Button
6 no. Live Monitored Safety Edges
Flashing Warning Light when in Operation
Dual Height Safety Photo Cells
Single Phase Input Power Supply
Construction of concrete pads to match the manufacturer’s specification, carried out at least 1 week prior to the installation of the gates. This is to ensure suitable curing time of the concrete prior to the installation of the necessary anchor studs to support the gate.
Railing Infills to Front of Car Park
To supply and install vertical bar railings to open access points to the underground car park at the above property. All railings will be manufactured using 16mm solid square bar, and have a finial above the top rail to match as close as possible top the existing railings. Horizontal rails will be 50×12 solid flat bar. All posts to be secured to existing foundations or brick work for the building using chemical resin anchors. All steel work to be hot dipped galvanised and powder coated black RAL 9005. All as per below detail
Access Control
For access control to all the above gates we have now tailored a standalone system call Paxton Switch 2. On the outside of the two pedestrian gates and the sliding gate will be a keypad with a fob proximity reader. To gain access to the car park would require contact with a supplied fob/card and in the event of no fob/card then the option of a code is required. To exit the sliding gate a ground loop will be installed and will detect the presence of a vehicle, then will active the opening of the sliding gate. To exit the pedestrian gates we can install either another fob reader on the rear of the post or a push to exit button located far enough away from the gate to avoid any tampering from the outside. The fobs will all be programmed to operate all the gates. Also included is a battery back up system so in the event of a power failure the site will remain secure. We supply 50no. card/fobs with the system. More are available if required at an extra cost
